As an independent, non-partisan, evidence-driven think tank, PIRC places strong emphasis on accountability, rigor, and strategic foresight. The Board undertook a comprehensive review of institutional performance across our thematic focus areas — including agriculture and food systems, trade and industrial development, employment and entrepreneurship, conflict and peace building, and technology and AI — while reflecting on crosscutting priorities such as climate change, digitalization, gender, and innovation.
The 2026 Indicative Plan builds on lessons learned, strengthens our commitment to rigorous research and impact evaluation, and reinforces our role as a bridge between evidence and policymaking in Ethiopia and beyond, which was discussed and approved by the board.
The discussion was strategic, forward-looking, and indicative of PIRC’s continued pursuit of cutting-edge research and policy innovation. The board members appreciate PIRC performance over the past year and promised to commit more time to support PIRC in different areas, including partnership, fund raising and communication.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our Board Members for their leadership, guidance, and commitment to advancing inclusive, innovative, and evidence-based policymaking.
